Correspondence Manager – Washington D.C.
Overview: The Office of Senator-elect Elissa Slotkin is seeking an experienced, highly organized team builder and collaborator to track constituent correspondence and oversee timely and effective response. The Correspondence Manager will lead a team that ensures the timely and effective two-way communication between the Senator-elect and her constituents on critical policy and legislative issues. The Correspondence Manager will report to the Legislative Director.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop, operate and maintain the IT and other systems to take in, organize and track constituent correspondence by mail, phone and email, and to develop and transmit timely and effective personal responses to that correspondence.
- Assist the Senator-elect in development of responses that clearly and effectively convey her policy positions and legislative activity.
- Compile timely and accurate reports that compile and analyze trends in constituent correspondence on legislative issues.
Candidate qualifications
- An obsessive attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring that no constituent feels unheard.
- Comprehensive expertise with customer relationship management systems commonly used on Capitol Hill, such as IQ.
- Excellent written communication skills and the ability to lead an office-wide effort to communicate about complex legislative subjects in clean, clear prose.
- Ability to collaborate across the Washington and Michigan offices to ensure staff-wide contributions to correspondence tracking and response and awareness of correspondence trends.
Location and work environment: This role is in the Washington D.C. office. Candidates should expect a fast paced, results oriented work environment.
