Regional Manager – Michigan

Overview: The Office of Senator-elect Elissa Slotkin is seeking experienced, dedicated, community-centered professionals to serve as Regional Managers in communities throughout the state of Michigan. A Regional Manager will be responsible for representing the Senator-elect in their geographic regions, maintaining close relationships with community leaders and constituent groups, staffing special events in their assigned counties and other parts of the region as needed. The Regional Manager will attend meetings and events with the Senator-elect when she is in their region. The Regional Manager will report to the Deputy State Director.  

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Representation of the Senator-elect: The Regional Manager will serve as the primary representative for the Senator-elect at key events in their region of responsibility, which will require a high level of interaction, engagement, and public speaking. These representational responsibilities may occur on nights and weekends. 
  • Community outreach: The Regional Manager will serve as the day-to-day primary point of contact for community leaders and constituent groups in their region of responsibility, and will develop and lead an active engagement strategy in their region that reflects the priorities of the Senator-elect.  
  • Engagement with federal agencies: The Regional Manager will act as a liaison with federal, district, and local agencies and will actively liaise with the Senator-elect’s constituent services team to ensure the delivery of timely support. 
  • Internal communication: Regional Managers provide the Senator-elect and members of the senate team regular updates on issues within their region of responsibility. Regional Managers will actively participate in cross-team efforts that may impact their region of responsibility, including but not limited to correspondence, legislative initiatives, and other special requests. 

Candidate qualifications:

  • Strong professional record, with deep ties to the community.
  • Strong communication skills, adept at writing clearly and concisely. Experienced public speaker, comfortable with speaking in front of large audiences. 
  • Knowledge of government at both the state and federal level. 
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team are also crucial for success in this role.

Location and work environment: This position is located in the state of Michigan. The office of Senator-elect Elissa Slotkin will consider applications from candidates in any community across the state. The position requires flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends, due to the external relations component of the role.
